Hospital deaths from coronavirus will rise in the coming weeks as cases soar, a top Government medic has warned. Professor Jonathan Van-Tam set out the latest grim statistics at a Downing Street briefing, which revealed a "marked pick-up" in cases since early September after a "flat" summer.
