SKYFOX flew over an active scene on Wendle Street in Philadelphia, where a body was found in a burning car, police say.  PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department are looking into a suspicious death in North Philadelphia. According to authorities, police and fire responded to a car fire on the 2400 block of Wendle Street around 8:30 a.m. After extinguishing the flames, first responders found a body in the driver's seat leaning into the passenger seat, police say. The body is believed to be a male and the race is currently unknown, according to officials. Medics pronounced the person dead at 8:35 a.m. and the Medical Examiner's Office will travel to the crime scene to evaluate, authorities say. This is a developing story.

(The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC))More than 150,000 General Electric refrigerators are being recalled because of a fall hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).The recall includes six models of the GE-brand French Door Refrigerators with bottom freezers in fingerprint resistant stainless steel, which were sold at home improvement and home appliance stores nationwide for over two years.The recall was initiated because the freezer handle can detach when a consumer tries to open the drawer, which poses a fall hazard, according to the CPSC.To date, there have already been 71 reports from consumers that the freezer handle detached, "resulting in 37 reported injuries, including three serious fall injuries," the CPSC said.The recalled appliance was sold at major home improvement and home appliance stores including The Home Depot, Lowe’s and Best Buy from February 2020 through January 2022.

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Law enforcement officials are looking for information after a dolphin was found dead in Florida after being impaled in the head. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said the dead dolphin was found on Fort Myers Beach on March 24 and recovered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). NOAA's law enforcement office said a necropsy on the dolphin revealed it was impaled in the head by a spear-like object while still alive. The dolphin was a lactating female, and it appeared to have died from trauma, which happened at or around its time of death, according to NOAA.READ: Dolphin dies after reportedly being harassed by Texas beachgoersLaw enforcement officials said they suspect the dolphin was impaled while in a "begging position." PHILADELPHIA - At least five people have died and more than a dozen have been injured during a violent 24-hour span in Philadelphia. Between 5:30 a.m. Thursday and 5:30 a.m. Friday, police tell FOX 29 a total of 24 people were shot and five of them died.

Rafiq Thompson of Philadelphia was charged with the murder of a pregnant woman in Upper Merion after turning himself in to authorities.  PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man who was wanted for the murder of a pregnant woman in Upper Merion on Friday has been charged after turning himself in, the Montgomery County District Attorney announced. According to officials, 38-year-old Rafiq Thompson is facing first-degree murder and related charges connected to the shooting death of 31-year-old Tamara Cornelius last week. Police say the shooting took place at an Exxon gas station before 11 p.m. on North Gulph Road and West Dekalb Pike. Officers arrived on scene and found Cornelius lying in the gas station parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities say. PREVIOUS: $5K reward offered in search for suspect accused of killing pregnant woman in Upper MerionShe was transported to Paoli Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:09 p.m., according to investigators. Officials say the investigation revealed that Cornelius and the suspect were in a prior relationship and had met up briefly before she went to have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. According to investigators, Thompson followed Cornelius as she left the restaurant at 10:15 p.m., walked to the parking garage and then drove to the Exxon gas station. Police say as she was pumping gas when Thompson got out of the car, spoke to her and shot her. He continued to shoot her as she tried to get away, authorities say. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information on the whereabouts of Rafiq Thompson.

PHILADELPHIA - A rally to end the scourge of gun violence in Philadelphia was held Tuesday, and called special attention to the shooting death of 15-year-old Sean Toomey. Police say Toomey was shot in the head outside his family’s home in Wissinoming on March 24. He later died from his injuries at the hospital. Investigators originally said that Sean was hit by stray gunfire, but law enforcement sources told FOX 29's Kelly Rule that they believe he was shot while running from an attempted carjacking.Sources said Sean was unloading water from his father's car when two men approached him and tried to steal the car.
