PHILADELPHIA - Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a carjacking and shooting in Frankford that took place on Sunday. According to police, the incident happened on the 1400 block of E Cheltenham Avenue at 4:46 a.m. Authorities say 27-year-old Raheem Bell was shot once in the stomach during a reported carjacking. BETHESDA, Maryland - New evidence shows a booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine may provide protection against a subvariant of omicron – the variant which has rapidly become the dominant strain in the world and currently accounts for most cases of the virus in the U.S.Researchers from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center examined neutralizing antibodies produced after vaccination or infection. These are antibodies that can bind to the virus and block its entry into cells.The study, funded in part by the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, found that after a booster vaccination, levels of antibodies in the blood that could bind to and neutralize a new omicron variant increased substantially. The team tested antibodies from the blood of 24 people who had been vaccinated and boosted with the Pfizer shot.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A man is facing charges for a deadly beating in Minneapolis that was recorded and posted on Facebook last month.Nineteen-year-old Emmanuel Davis is charged with murder for the violent attack that happened just over a month ago on March 6. He was taken into custody last month by Minneapolis police, about two weeks after the attack.According to the criminal complaint, police believe Davis used his girlfriend to lure the victim into an ambush.Police learned of the attack on March 6 after being alerted by a family member of the victim who said they were sent a video showing her family member being violently attacked.

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - A homeowner turned the tables against a suspected burglar in Ventura County.According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, a homeowner came home to at least two people trying to steal his stuff.
