That girl then alerted an adult who was at the bus stop. The adult processed to confront Aridi and took photos of his vehicle and license plate before contacting police. MORE HEADLINES: Investigators soon learned that the vehicle was registered to Talal Aridi, who is a Megan’s Law registrant following an attempted luring case from 2019.

PHILADELPHIA - Minutes after an alleged robbery turned deadly in Olney, officers were called to another fatal shooting in the area. According to police, 35th District officers responded around 1:30 a.m. Officers were handling the robbery case at the intersection of N 5th Street and W Olney Avenue when they heard gunshots coming from the intersection of N 5th Street and W Champlost Avenue, police say. According to authorities, additional units responded to the 6000 block of N 5th Street and found a shooting victim inside of a parked car. Police say a man was slumped in the driver's seat of an Infiniti with multiple bullet holes in the driver's side window. The driver, a 49-year-old man, was unresponsive and police say he was shot once in the face and several times in the torso. Authorities say medics transported him to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says the man was shot while sitting in the driver's seat because the car was hit by gunfire more than 10 times. Police are investigating a shooting in Olney that left one man dead.  A total of 28 spent shell casings were found just outside of the vehicle, Small says. Investigators say the bullets were fired from two separate caliber semi-automatic guns. Small says when the victim was taken to the hospital, a gun was found on his waistband. "It appears that although he had a gun, it appears that he never had a chance to use that weapon because it was still in his waistband when he arrived at the hospital," Small says. According to police, several cameras were active in the area during the time of the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing and active. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINES___DOWNLOAD: FOX 29 NEWS

PHILADELPHIA - A suspected robber was shot and killed early Tuesday morning after a man took his gun and shot him with it, police say. According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, around 1 a.m., 35th district officers responded to reports of two shooting victims in the smoke shop on the 5300 block of 5th Street. As officers were responding to that call, they received another call for a shooting victim inside of a car on W Olney Avenue, police say. Authorities say when officers responded to the smoke shop, no victims were inside, but it was clear there was a shooting scene due to spent shell casings and blood. Officers found an unresponsive shooting victim in the passenger seat of a Toyota with gunshot wounds to the groin and thigh and he was pronounced dead around 1:15 a.m., Small says. Police say the Toyota the man was in was stolen last week from the 24th District. Investigators say they learned there was a robbery in the smoke shop, with the deceased shooting victim matching the description of the robber. "We believe while that robbery was taking place someone fired shots striking the perpetrator who was the male inside the Toyota who was pronounced dead," Small says. "That's our preliminary information." Philadelphia police are investigating after a shooting at a smoke shop in Olney.  Police also say another shooting victim, a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the shoulder, showed up at the hospital. According to authorities, he was also shot inside the smoke shop on 5th Street. "At this point, we believe there was a robbery inside the smoke shop.

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's police union claims it's facing a staffing crisis that is greatly impacting campus safety as gun violence continues to rage in North Philadelphia.The union says it's operating at 60% of its typical workforce and each officer has worked about 42 overtime shifts since last July.On Monday, the union said on its Facebook page that it "cannot perform adequate community policing techniques that we have done in the past to reduce crime in the community." This comes as the Philadelphia Police Department shared new information about a recent shooting on Temple's during which investigators believe a 15-year-old gunman opened fire on a car full of teenage girls. Authorities say a 15-year-old boy is facing charges in three different shootings this month, including a shooting last Friday that left two teen girls injured and another that critically wounded a 14-year-old.Police Captain John Walker told reporters that the girl's car turned onto the 1500 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue just before 10 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Two teenagers showed up to a Philadelphia hospital after police say they were both shot Monday night in Point Breeze. According to investigators a 17-year-old boy and girl were driven to Methodist Hospital by private vehicle after they were shot on the 1700 block of South 18th Street. The teenage boy was shot once in the hip and the girl was struck in the shoulder, police said. She was brought by ambulance to another medical center that police did not share. Authorities said both wounded teens were placed in stable condition. No arrests were reported immediately following the double shooting.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Police across the country are warning parents about the dangers of the Orbeez Challenge as they see a rise in incidents involving the gel pellets and toy guns. In Pennsylvania, four teenagers are in trouble after firing a gel pellet gun at a group of students outside of a middle school. RELATED: Police warn some social media 'challenges' can lead to hackers gaining personal informationLaw Enforcement in Florida is also warning residents about the challenge after a Volusia County woman was struck in the arm walking with her child and three people were hit by pellets in Deltona. Police are warning parents and schools about the dangers of the Orbeez Challenge.  According to police, the Orbeez Challenge is a viral social media trend that encourages people to shoot Orbeez water beads and gel pellets from air guns. Packs of the popular children's toy can come with up to 500 Orbeez and 1500 Orbeez seeds, according to the manufacturer. The gel beads are typically created with water, but many conducting the challenge have begun freezing the beads to intensify their effects. Chris Flanagan, the Superintendent of Police in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania, said the challenge is concerning because the toy guns being used are often altered to look like real weapons. When the challenge was done outside of Radnor Middle School, students and staff began running and the school restricted activity in the area, according to Flanagan. "These challenges seem like they are funny," he says.

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - Police in Camden County have located a teenager with autism who went missing over the weekend. Police say the 16-year-old was reported missing after last being seen on Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m. The teen was seen at his residence on the 3700 block of Garfield Avenue. Later that day, he was seen on surveillance video at 4:00 p.m.

Brandon Norman, 29, was arrested and charged after allegedly attacking a man who he was involved in a minor crash with. NEW CASTLE, Del. - Police have arrested a man accused of attacking a driver and threatening the car's passengers in New Castle, Delaware, on Sunday night, according to Delaware State Police. Authorities say 29-year-old Brandon Norman of Bear, Delaware, was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second-degree assault, aggravated menacing, terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of a child and numerous traffic violations. According to police, troopers responded to the intersection of Springfield Boulevard at 5:26 p.m.
