Up to half of the coronavirus deaths in Europe are care home residents, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said. Dr Hans Kluge, WHO regional director for Europe, told today's weekly briefing that figures show residents in long-term care facilities account for up to half of Covid-19 deaths in the region.
He said the impact coronavirus is having on those in care homes is “deeply concerning“.
