University of Glasgow halls of residence have tested positive for coronavirus. The uni have identified two 'significant' clusters of cases at the Murano Street and Cairncross sites, which are believed to be linked to freshers' week events.Over 600 students are now self-isolating at the halls in a bid to curb transmission.Test and trace teams are continuing their work to identify close contacts.
The announcement came after a number of cases were identified at University of Aberdeen and Abertay University halls of residence.
A University of Glasgow spokesperson told The Herald : “We are aware of two significant clusters of positive cases of Covid-19 in our Murano Street and Cairncross residences, which we believe were largely due to social.
