An ex- World Health Organisation executive has revealed his hopeful strategy to gradually bring the UK out of coronavirus lockdown.
Professor Karol Sikora said he hoped small businesses with fewer than 50 staff members to re-open on April 27. Pupils should be allowed to return and social distancing measures eased by May 4, Dr Sikora argued.
Offices, pubs and restaurants would also be able to open their doors again on May 18. His final step of his four-part plan would be the easing of international travel restrictions and gatherings on June 1.
Dr Sikora added: “With more testing, no mutation of the virus and compliance with the rules I think this is a feasible timetable. “The lockdown is working – we are flattening the curve.
