PHILADELPHIA, Pa - The Philadelphia Major Crimes Auto Squad is attempting to identify two suspects accused of stealing a catalytic converter on the 200 block of Tasker Street in South Philadelphia.

Police say the suspects were driving a white Hyundai Sonata as they pulled up and parked across the street from the victim's Honda Civic.

After several minutes, the first suspect took out a hydraulic jack and a cordless sawzall from the trunk of their Hyundai and handed the sawzall to the second suspect, who was sitting in the driver's seat of their car, authorities say.The first suspect walked across the street to jack up the victim's car on the driver side and the second suspect walked across the street to hand the first suspect the sawzall, so that the converter could be cut from the vehicle, police say.

Authorities say the suspects were able to steal the catalytic converter from the Civic within several minutes. NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A bill in Tennessee that aims to hold drunk drivers accountable by requiring DUI offenders to pay child support if their actions resulted in the death of a parent has passed unanimously in the state legislature. House Bill 1834, also known as "Bentley’s Law," passed the Tennessee Senate on Wednesday and now goes to Gov. Bill Lee’s desk for an expected signature into law.

Man in critical condition after being shot inside corner store in South Philadelphia, police say

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man in critical condition in South Philadelphia on Tuesday. According to police, the shooting happened on the 2800 block of Jackson Street inside of a corner store at 10:32 a.m. The victim, a 52-year old man, was shot once in the leg, authorities say. According to officials, he was taken to Presbyterian Hospital where he remains in critical condition. Authorities say he was an employee of the corner store.
