Two tanked-up brutes attacked an innocent member of the public after refusing to follow covid rules in a town centre pub. Daniel Davies and Dean Pleavin, appeared before court this week to be sentenced for their violent attack on Richard Cupit, who was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The pair of drunken thugs admitted punching Cupit to the ground and kicking him in the face as he lay defenceless on the ground outside the pub they had been kicked out of for failing to adhere to covid guidelines.
Prosecutor, Mr Oliver King, told the court how the men were part of a group that had arrived in the pub in the afternoon of July 6 last year.
This was during the time when hospitality venues were required to take track and trace details from customers to comply with covid laws.Face masks were also required unless medically exempt, the court was reminded. It was said that 28-year-old Davies refused to comply so his party was asked to leave by staff of the Lloyds bar in Wrexham.
