Three pals fined £1,000 for Covid-19 breach after driving to beauty spot together

Three pals were fined for breaching Covid rules after police pulled over their car as they returned from a beauty spot. The officers found that the battered Seat Leon was missing a headlight and its bumper was held together with tape, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The three friends, who are from different homes in Manchester, were stopped in Cheshire as they drove home from Macclesfield Forest.

Police fined the pals, took the car away and also issued a cannabis caution after finding two of the occupants in possession of the drug.
