New data reveals the hospital trusts which are treating the highest number of Covid patients in England. NHS figures show that this week London and the Midlands had the most people hospitalised with Covid-19, followed by the North West.
Overall the number of patients has halved since last month, when more than 22,000 people were being treated on its worst day, January 18.
On Tuesday there were 10,871 people with Covid in hospitals across the country. The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust - which runs four hospitals in the country's second largest city - has the most patients of any trust, with 497 Covid patients, down from 889 last month.
