Stockport now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, replacing Tameside. The borough recorded a rate of 497.3 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending September 23, according to the latest data.

The lowest infection rate is the city-borough of Manchester, where the rate is 208.0 cases per 100,000 people. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 314.6 cases per 100,000 population, lowed than the England average which is 323.0 cases per
