Tesco is recalling some of its own-brand croissants amid an alert of a ‘potential health risk’. Six packs of the supermarket’s Frozen All Butter Croissants with a best before date of September 2022 are being recalled.

This is due to some containing nuts, which have not been mentioned on the label. The Food Standards Agency notes that this has been caused due to a packaging error, which saw some packs being incorrectly packed with Tesco’s Frozen Almond Croissants, which contain almonds. This could be potential health risk for people with an allergy to nuts.Customers who have a nut allergy have been urged not to eat the product and return them to store for a full refund.A statement on the FSA website reads: “Tesco is recalling Tesco Frozen All Butter Croissants 6 pack because it may contain almonds (nuts) not mentioned on the label."Due to a packaging error some packs may have been incorrectly packed with Tesco Frozen Almond Croissants, which contain almonds (nuts). “This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts).” Tesco has apologised to customers for the error. The supermarket said in a statement: “Please do not consume this product if you have an allergy to almond, return the affected product to store where a full refund will be given.

No receipt is required."Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused. " Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
