COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Finance Ministry has decided to drop the Special Commodity Tax imposed on a kilogram of imported dates by Rs.

199/-.The tax which stood at Rs. 200/- will now be Rs. 1/-, said the Finance Ministry noting that this measure was taken to provide relief to the Sri Lankan Muslim community for the upcoming Ramazan fasting period.The Finance Ministry also said that the imports of dates are not subject to the import control permit system.

P1Harmony have postponed the remaining dates of their ongoing US tour after their staff and several members tested positive for COVID-19.Today (March 22), concert organiser SubKulture Entertainment took to Twitter to announce the news.
