The Government's reopening plan has divided the hospitality industry, according to the Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI).
In a statement following the announcement of the plan by Taoiseach Micheál Martin, the RAI said that the reaction from the restaurant sector is one of "disbelief, confusion and frustration".
Under the plan, hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses and self-catering accommodation can open again on 2 June - subject to the public health situation at the time.
However, outdoor hospitality - including restaurants and all pubs - will resume on 7 June. Adrian Cummins, Chief Executive of the RAI said: "We are calling on the Government to publish the medical and scientific evidence deeming a hotel or guesthouse restaurant safer than an
