MIAMI, Fla. - A small plane crashed into a South Florida bridge Saturday afternoon, according to the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department.The crash happened on a bridge over the Haulover Inlet Bridge that connects Haulover Beach to Bal Harbor. The Bay Harbor Islands Police Department said the area would be closed to traffic as emergency services responded.Footage taken from a nearby building shows smoke and flames leaping from the wreckage of the plane, as well as a vehicle on the bridge that sustained damage.People speaking in the background can be heard talking about how they saw people get out of the plane. According to WSVN, one person has been taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.According to a tweet by WSVN reporter Frank Guzman, the FAA says a single-engine Cessna 172 lost engine power and landed on Route A1A on the Haulover Inlet Bridge approximately five miles east of the Opa-Locka Airport around 1 p.m.The FAA stated that three people were on board, according to Guzman’s tweet.

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Police Department on Friday, May 13 responded to 10 separate shooting scenes. Two fatal shootings happened on the same block hours apart. DOVER, Del. - A traffic stop turned drug search has taken yet another turn amid accusations of racial profiling.Delaware State University, a historically black college, will file a formal civil rights complaint against the Liberty County Sheriff's Department after the lacrosse team was stopped in Georgia, according to Tony Allen, the university's president.Allen says the deputies performed a "constitutionally dubious stop and search" of the lacrosse team and their bus as they drove home on April 20.The team was pulled over in Liberty County for an alleged minor traffic violation. Deputies then boarded the bus to announces they would be conducting a search."If there is something in there that is questionable, please tell me now because if we find it, guess what? India on Saturday reported 2,858 Covid-19 cases and 11 deaths in 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in its report. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a police officer and two juveniles were hurt in a near head-on collision Friday in Philadelphia. According to police, an officer in a police vehicle was attempting to stop a black Ford being driven by a juvenile on the 3800 block of Aspen Street. During the pursuit, investigators say the Ford rammed into the front passenger's side of an oncoming police cruiser. The driver and another juvenile were brought to the hospital for observation, police said. The officer was also hospitalized in stable condition, according to police. AdvertisementAn update from the Philadelphia Police Department mentioned that officers made an arrest, but they did not share information on the suspect.

LEON COUNTY, Texas - A manhunt is underway for an inmate who escaped custody in Leon County, Texas by stabbing a corrections officer while being transported.Gonzalo Lopez, 46, was being transported on a bus with 15 other inmates from Gatesville, headed eastbound on Highway 7 to Huntsville Thursday afternoon.
