A police officer is being probed by bosses after an anti lockdown Instagram rant claiming the rules "make her ashamed to be British." Chelsea Renton, who is based at Cathcart Police Office in Glasgow, demanded the public be allowed to "go back to normal" despite a surge in coronavirus cases.

The PC branded lockdown rules "a joke" and told her followers the lockdown rules which she is employed to enforce were not necessary, as reported by the Daily Record.

It comes despite a surge in Covid-19 cases which has already killed 2,510 Scots. The UK reported 6,874 new cases on Friday, with a further 34 people reported to have died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus, excluding Scotland.
