PHILADELPHIA - Multiple police officers became the target of a man, who is now being charged with several counts of attempted murder, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.Keith Blount, 59, is accused of firing several ‘unprovoked’ shots at officers driving down the 3300 block of North 10th Street last week. He was reportedly sitting in his car at the time.After police radioed for backup and established a perimeter, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Blount jumped out of his car and continued firing at police. Authorities say four officers returned fire, grazing the man in the head.

Peter Meyers CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The remains of a missing man were uncovered months after local authorities set out on several searches for the 68-year-old, according to the Cherry Hill Police Department.Peter Meyers, 68, was reported missing by his family on June 7.His vehicle was found abandoned on a dirt road leading to Wharton State Forest, prompting extensive searches of the wooded area within the forest. Officials say no signs of Meyers were found.Last week, a man hunting in Wharton State Forest reportedly found what appeared to be human skeletal remains.

PHILADELPHIA - A busy interstate became the scene of a crime twice this weekend after police say several shots rang out on I-95 in Philadelphia.It appears road rage may have lead to the first shooting on Saturday when a victim's car was struck by gunfire near the Girard Exit around 8:30 a.m.The victim told police a white Dodge Durango almost hit his vehicle when he tried to change lanes. TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Police Department has arrested a man they say shot a pregnant woman in the head as she slept in a car with four other members of her family, including three children.Christopher Stamat Jr., 21, was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with six felonies, including attempted first-degree murder. According to TPD, the homeless family of five was sleeping in their car on October 5 around 4:30 a.m. near 2200 North Oregon Avenue when the suspect opened fire, striking the woman in the head. Witnesses said they spotted a dark-colored car leaving the scene and surveillance video captured a black 2-door 300 series 2012 BMW in the area at the time of the shooting. In addition to obtaining the license tag, detectives say the car they were looking for has unique identifiers such as stickers and black rims.

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Russian 'Aeroflot' airline will resume flights to Sri Lanka after five months.Accordingly, the airline will operate flights to Sri Lanka for two days every week in the future.Flights between Sri Lanka and Moscow have remained suspended since last June in protest against the measures taken by Sri Lankan authorities to ground an aircraft belonging to the Russian airline in accordance with a Court order.On June 2nd, the Colombo Commercial High Court issued an injunction order preventing an aircraft belonging to the Russian 'Aeroflot' airline from leaving Sri Lanka.The order was issued after taking up a complaint filed by the company Celestial Aviation Trading Limited located in Ireland.Russian authorities then expressed their displeasure regarding the detention of the flight by the Sri Lankan authorities, after which the order was lifted, and the Minister of Transport, Bandula Gunawardena apologized to Russian authorities.

PHILADELPHIA - A months-long search for a 17-year-old girl wanted for the murder of a man, and the attempted murder of another teen has come to an end, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.Jahme Barnes, 17, of Philadelphia, has been charged in connection to a deadly shooting that broke out near Grant Street and Union Alley in Pottstown on August 28, killing Dakari Rome and injuring a 17-year-old boy.Officials say they found blood stains and several shell casings inside an SUV where Barnes, both victims, co-defendant Kahseem Williams, who was arrested on September 1; and an unknown female were "hanging out" as the shooting unfolded.Messages on Williams' phone revealed a conversation between him and Rome, according to the DA's office:"Yo ask him to hold his gat (slang for gun) once he give it to you tell em he burnt (slang for cheated or deceived) we gon to go in a ride," Rome messaged Williams.Minutes later, Williams messaged Rome, "Tell em let you hold it while I drop him off up there once he do don’t give it back we go slide to citt."The injured 17-year-old reportedly told police he possessed a 9 mm Glock on the night of the murder. Officials say the teen handed the gun to Rome, who gave it Williams, who passed it onto Barnes, who then started playing with the gun and recording herself.Barnes then reportedly fired at the teen after pointing the gun at him, and asking "what else you got?"The bullet went through the teen's hand, and fatally into Rome's chest. COLOMBO (News 1st) – Student Activist Hashan Gunathilake who was detained under a 90-day detention order under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act was released by a Sri Lankan court on Friday (7). Gunathilake is an activist from the Inter-University Student's Federation and he was arrested on the 18th of August 2022 following a protest in Colombo. He was arrested along with Venerable Galwewa Siridhamma Thero, and Wasantha Mudalige, the Inter-University Student's Federation Convener.On 19th August 2022, Sri Lanka's Defence Ministry issued detention orders for Wasantha Mudalige and Hashan Gunathilake.Gunathilake has been in detention ever since.On Friday (7), he was released after he was produced at the Tangalle Magistrate's Court.The Terrorist Investigations Department informed Tangalle Magistrate Hemantha Pushpakumara that it did not have sufficient evidence to continue to hold Hashan Jeewantha under detention orders.Upali Mohotti, PC appearing for the student activist noted that 50 days of investigations by the TID have uncovered zero evidence against Hashan Jeewantha.

PHILADELPHIA - A second suspect is now facing charges in a shooting that injured two people near Temple University’s campus in mid-September.Late last month, police announced multiple charges, including aggravated assault, against 22-year-old Troy Mullen in connection with the incident. A 17-year-old from Delaware has also been charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, and related offenses, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. The shooting occurred during the early morning back on Sept. 17 at 16th Street and Cecil B.
