Authorities have charged a man with kidnapping for allegedly abducting a two-year-old boy in rural Pope County. POPE COUNTY (FOX 9) - The man who authorities say kidnapped a 2-year-old boy in rural Pope County last week, triggering an AMBER Alert, allegedly used a window to abduct the child from the room the boy shared with his mother while she was out working and other members of the family were sleeping, according to a criminal complaint filed in district court today.The Pope County Attorney's Office has charged Victor Ramirez, aka Benigno Alvarrez, with kidnapping the boy from a home in the small town of Westport, Minnesota, on Thursday, March 17.

Middlesex-London Health Unit reported three deaths and 189 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, compared with one death and 220 cases last Thursday.The deaths involved two men, in their 60s and 80s, and a woman in her 90s. None were associated with long-term care homes or retirement homes.Meanwhile, the London Health Sciences Centre reported 139 COVID-19 inpatients on Thursday, with 25 in critical care.As noted, LHSC is caring for 139 COVID-19 inpatients, with 25 inpatients in adult critical care, compared with a record-high 166 inpatients, 19 of whom were in critical care, last Thursday.Of those, there are five or fewer in Children’s Hospital with zero in pediatric critical care. Last Thursday, the same figures were reported.

Mitchell Richtman, 31 (Mercer County Prosecutor's Office) EAST WINDSOR, N.J. - A New Jersey man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he was found to be in possession of child sexual abuse materials, as well as videos that allegedly showed him performing sexual acts on a horse. Mitchell B. Richtman, 31, is charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials and animal cruelty following the alleged discovery by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.Mercer County detectives opened an investigation into Richtman after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual in the county was uploading illicit content involving minors. After an investigation, authorities identified Richtman as a suspect. MORE HEADLINES: Last Thursday, investigators executed a search warrant, detained Richtman, and seized several electronic devices from his East Windsor home.Investigators say some of the devices seized contained child sexual abuse material depicting children as young as five years old.

The average number of new Covid-19 cases has risen steadily over the past five days, according to figures released by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
