COLOMBO (News 1st) – The provision of food aid to 66,000 families in Sri Lanka has commenced. Chairman of the Presidential Committee on National Food Security Dr Suren Batagoda said that Rs.
15,000 per month will be given for six months as support to the families.Meanwhile, The Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella said yesterday (29) that, according to the current surveys, 21,000 children have been identified as suffering from malnutrition in Sri Lanka and it may increase to 40,000 in future.
