Northern Ireland's vaccine roll-out will accelerate further today with the opening of a new mass centre at a converted sports complex in Belfast city centre.

The SSE Arena is normally home to the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey team. It has often been converted into a concert venue, but in recent weeks has been transformed into a vaccination hub.

The first jab at the new centre will be administered at 8am, and all those aged 50 or over anywhere in Northern Ireland have been invited to make an appointment.

It will eventually be able to administer 8,000 vaccine doses each day. That will be close to the combined capacity of seven mass vaccination centres already operating across Northern Ireland.
