New restrictions on leisure settings have come into force across Scotland over fears of the rapidly spreading Omicron variant.

From 5am today, December 27, one metre physical distancing has been reimposed on pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, gyms, museums, bowling alleys and snooker halls.

Nightclubs across the country are also due to close from Monday for a period of three weeks, however they will be able to remain open if they operate table serve and implement physical distancing.
