Philadelphia Police Cruiser PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department are looking into several violent incidents over the weekend that left at least 9 people injured. According to Philadelphia police, officers with the 25th District responded to the 1200 block of West Silver Street around 9:54 p.m. A 26-year-old man was found inside a residence on the 2700 block of North 11th Street with multiple gunshot wounds, police say. He was transported to Temple University Hospital where he is in stable condition, according to officials. At 10:44 p.m., officers responded to the 7900 block of Roosevelt Boulevard and found a 28-year-old with a graze wound to the chest, authorities say. Officials say, the shooting incident happened on the 2600 block of Ryan Avenue and the victim is in stable condition at Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital. At 12:30 a.m., a shooting victim flagged down police on the 3600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, according to police. Authorities say the shooting happened near Harbison Avenue and Comly Street and the man is at Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition. One hour later, officers with the 16th district responded to a call for a shooting victim in a vehicle at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, police say. According to police, the shooting happened on the 5100 block of Haverford Avenue and a 25-year-old man was shot in the thigh. He is in stable condition, police say. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOfficials say a 40-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a car on the 2300 block of North 22nd Street around 1:33 a.m. According to authorities, a person was driving southbound on 22nd Street when it veered left hitting the man

PHILADELPHIA - A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after the car he was driving flipped over in an embankment in Olney, according to police. Authorities say the incident happened on the 400 block of East Olney Avenue around 3:50 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - The federal government opened its bribery trial against Philadelphia City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson and his wife Dawn Chavous by accusing the pair of selling Johnson’s office for personal gain.Johnson, who represents the 2nd. Council District which includes parts of Center City, South and Southwest Philadelphia, is accused of taking more than $66k in bribes disguised as fees paid to his wife’s consulting company.Federal prosecutors claim Johnson pressed for a zoning change to help increase the sale price of the former Royal Theater on South Street.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Authorities in Bucks County say they are investigating an attempted child luring that took place late last week. Falls Township police say the incident occurred Friday between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.Police say a female Pennsbury High School Student told them she was walking home on the 100 block of South Queen Anne Drive when she was approached by a man in a vehicle. The girl stated that the man repeatedly asked her if she needed a ride, but she refused.

KYIV, Ukraine - The battle for Ukraine's cities is thundering across its suburbs, with the Ukrainian military retaking a key neighborhood near Kyiv and the invading Russian forces increasing air raids that have caused uncounted deaths and sent more than 3.5 million people fleeing.Ukraine's military said early Tuesday it had forced Russian troops out of a strategically important Kyiv suburb. However, Russian forces were partially able to take three northwest suburbs where there's been fighting for weeks.Civilians making the dangerous escape from the embattled southern port city of Mariupol described fleeing through street-to-street gun battles and past unburied corpses as steady Russian bombardment tried to pound the city into submission.

PHILADELPHIA - Minutes after an alleged robbery turned deadly in Olney, officers were called to another fatal shooting in the area. According to police, 35th District officers responded around 1:30 a.m. Officers were handling the robbery case at the intersection of N 5th Street and W Olney Avenue when they heard gunshots coming from the intersection of N 5th Street and W Champlost Avenue, police say. According to authorities, additional units responded to the 6000 block of N 5th Street and found a shooting victim inside of a parked car. Police say a man was slumped in the driver's seat of an Infiniti with multiple bullet holes in the driver's side window. The driver, a 49-year-old man, was unresponsive and police say he was shot once in the face and several times in the torso. Authorities say medics transported him to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says the man was shot while sitting in the driver's seat because the car was hit by gunfire more than 10 times. Police are investigating a shooting in Olney that left one man dead.  A total of 28 spent shell casings were found just outside of the vehicle, Small says. Investigators say the bullets were fired from two separate caliber semi-automatic guns. Small says when the victim was taken to the hospital, a gun was found on his waistband. "It appears that although he had a gun, it appears that he never had a chance to use that weapon because it was still in his waistband when he arrived at the hospital," Small says. According to police, several cameras were active in the area during the time of the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing and active. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINES___DOWNLOAD: FOX 29 NEWS

PHILADELPHIA - A suspected robber was shot and killed early Tuesday morning after a man took his gun and shot him with it, police say. According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, around 1 a.m., 35th district officers responded to reports of two shooting victims in the smoke shop on the 5300 block of 5th Street. As officers were responding to that call, they received another call for a shooting victim inside of a car on W Olney Avenue, police say. Authorities say when officers responded to the smoke shop, no victims were inside, but it was clear there was a shooting scene due to spent shell casings and blood. Officers found an unresponsive shooting victim in the passenger seat of a Toyota with gunshot wounds to the groin and thigh and he was pronounced dead around 1:15 a.m., Small says. Police say the Toyota the man was in was stolen last week from the 24th District. Investigators say they learned there was a robbery in the smoke shop, with the deceased shooting victim matching the description of the robber. "We believe while that robbery was taking place someone fired shots striking the perpetrator who was the male inside the Toyota who was pronounced dead," Small says. "That's our preliminary information." Philadelphia police are investigating after a shooting at a smoke shop in Olney.  Police also say another shooting victim, a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the shoulder, showed up at the hospital. According to authorities, he was also shot inside the smoke shop on 5th Street. "At this point, we believe there was a robbery inside the smoke shop.

AUSTIN, Texas - A vicious tornado was caught on camera wreaking havoc in a Walmart parking lot in Austin, Texas Monday evening.Onlookers can be seen screaming for nearby pedestrians to take cover as the tornado ripped what appears to be mere feet from the Walmart entrance. "Get inside! Get inside!" one man can be heard yelling as people run for shelter while debris flies through the air.RELATED: Houston severe weather: Tornado Warnings popping up in some areas"I JUST GOT DRAGGED," wrote one person on Twitter who was reportedly at the scene of the incident. PHILADELPHIA - Two teenagers showed up to a Philadelphia hospital after police say they were both shot Monday night in Point Breeze. According to investigators a 17-year-old boy and girl were driven to Methodist Hospital by private vehicle after they were shot on the 1700 block of South 18th Street. The teenage boy was shot once in the hip and the girl was struck in the shoulder, police said. She was brought by ambulance to another medical center that police did not share. Authorities said both wounded teens were placed in stable condition. No arrests were reported immediately following the double shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say they are searching for three teenage suspects an attempted robbery and double shooting in South Philadelphia Sunday morning. The incident occurred in an alleyway behind several homes on the 2700 block of South Randolph Street around 3 a.m. Sunday. Police say three men in their 20s were walking in the alley when they were approached by three teenage boys who were demanding money. A brief struggle ensued and one of the suspects fired multiple shots, striking two of the older male victims.

COLOMBO (News 1st); A group of people enraged over the Sri Lankan government’s inability to address the present shortage, took to the streets on Monday (21) morning, demanding they be delivered Kerosene.The locals from Orugodawatte protested by blocking the Baseline Road in Colombo from the Orugodawatte Junction demanding Kerosene.
