Police: 3 armed suspects pull man from car in Crescentville driveway, shoot him in the neck

PHILADELPHIA - A man has been hospitalized after he was shot on Tuesday night. Authorities say officers responded to the 4700 block of Bingham Street in the Crescentville section of the city just before 9 p.m.According to police, three armed suspects pulled a 42-year-old man from his car in a driveway. The man was shot in the neck before the suspects fled north from the driveway in a dark-colored vehicle, officials say. Officials say the scene was held and no arrests have been made.

COVID-19 has taken a minimal toll on most people’s mental health globally, according to a recent study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ). But a separate study shows that finding may not hold true for children.In fact, the pandemic increased mental distress for kids, a newly-published study led by the University of Calgary shows, leading to a sharp increase in emergency department visits for attempted suicide and suicide ideation among children and adolescents under the age of 19 years old.Nicole Racine, a clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa, said she believes children were forgotten about during the pandemic and they are one of the vulnerable groups that suffered the most from lockdowns.

BENSALEM, Pa. - A young girl awoke to a terrifying nightmare when police say she found a grown man beside her in her own bed.Police were responding to a burglary in progress on the 300 block of Thunder Circle in Bensalem when they were alerted to the incident.The 9-year-old victim ran out of her room when she woke up next to a burglary suspect wearing just underwear, according to authorities. Police say officers responded to Pennsylvania Hospital for a 19-year-old gunshot victim who was dropped off by a private vehicle early Wednesday morning just before 3 a.m. According to authorities, two suspects were inside the vehicle, believed to be a Nissan, with the victim. "All of that sand hasn't really set yet, so it just gets wiped away when we get bigger storms," said local surfer Cooper Lysinger, who enjoyed the large swells produced by the late-winter noreaster.

Hatboro under shelter-in-place due to armed man baricaded inside apartment: police

HATBORO, Pa. - A shelter-in-place has been issued in Hatboro after an armed man barricaded himself inside an apartment, authorities say.According to Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner, the incident began just after 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday evening when officers were dispatched for a report of a man with a gun on North York Road.Police say they were responding to reports that the man was pointing a gun at passing traffic.An officer responded to the location and made contact with the man, who then ran into a nearby apartment, officials say.Gardner says officers have attempted to contact the man throughout the night, but he has been unresponsive."At this point, our goal is to get this individual out of the apartment in a peaceful manner and resolve this so no one is injured," Gardner said.Officials say no shots were fired, but officers are still working to negotiate with the man.A shelter-in-place was issued for areas near the apartment as a precaution, authorities say.Nearby school districts were notified about the shelter-in-place and the Hatboro-Horsham School District closed all schools and offices for the day.
