Our communities deserve no less," Platkin said in a statement.Alongside the lawsuits, brought in state Superior Court, the officials said they issued a directive to a former industrial manufacturer located in Newark requiring it clean up volatile chemicals that seeped into the ground.The lawsuits come as part of the state's efforts under Democratic Gov.

PHILADELPHIA - A man arrested in New Jersey for a sexual assault in Center City is now back in Philadelphia in police custody, according to authorities.Willie L. Harris, 49, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in an office building on the 200 block of South 13th Street on July 5.Police say the suspect beat, then sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman who was alone in an unlocked office.He fled when the woman's co-worker walked back into the office, interrupting the assault, according to police.Harris was reportedly taken into custody in Gloucester County, New Jersey, two days later.He was arraigned in Philadelphia as of Wednesday, and charged with rape, indecent deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, strangulation, unlawful restraint, indecent assault, terroristic threats, indecent exposure, simple assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment.Authorities say Harris's current address is unknown, but he has ties to Camden and Woodbury, New Jersey, as well as Center City, Philadelphia.

LINDENWOLD, N.J. - Detectives in Lindenwold are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another man injured on Friday, according to the Camden County Prosecutor. According to police, officers from the Lindenwold Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Park Avenue after receiving multiple 911 calls for reports of gunshots around 8:09 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - A thin line of powerful storms that barrelled across southeastern Pennsylvania on Sunday knocked out power for more than 4,300 PECO customers, according to the Philadelphia-based energy company. Most of the outages reported by PECO are from Delaware County, where 3,556 customers are currently without power. Over 500 customers in neighboring Chester County are in the dark, and about 100 are without power in Bucks and Montgomery. Across the river in New Jersey, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) managed nearly 100 active outages that impacted over 7,000 customers.

Advocates for Hamilton’s homeless granted injunction preventing removal of encampments Encampments across Hamilton have been cropping up since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The most notable have been on Ferguson Avenue between Camden and Barton streets and York Street outside First Ontario Centre.This morning the Superior Court extended the injunction preventing the involuntary removal of individuals from homeless encampments until the motion can be heard in early-September, 2020.

CAMDEN, N.J. - Camden County officials charge a Camden man in connection with the death of a Pine Hill man.Michael Brandon, a 32-year-old man from Camden, was charged with one count of first-degree Felony Murder in the death of 30-year-old Pedro Fernandez, of Pine Hill.Officials say Fernandez was reported missing late Saturday night. Police were called to the 1500 block of Pershing Street just after 11 p.m.
