The number of cases is significantly down in all 10 boroughs. Across the region as a whole, the infection rate is now 66.5 cases per 100,000 population.

The national average is currently 38. A total of 1,886 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on April 2, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

That's down by 738 cases compared to the previous week - a drop of 28 per cent. But despite the downward trend the infection rate remains higher than the national average in all 10 local authorities in Greater
