Kate Garraway shares Derek health update after he was left 'fighting for his life' in ICU

Kate Garraway has issued an update on her husband Derek Draper after he was rushed back to intensive care as he took a "turn for the worse".Taking to Twitter, the 55 year old told her fanbase: "Thank you so so much for all your messages of support - they really do mean the world. "I’ve been off @gmb @smoothradio as Derek’s health took an unexpected & frightening turn for the worse that landed him back in intensive care & fighting for his life - again ." She then gushed over him as she wrote: "Thanks to the extraordinary @nhs teams & his own amazing life force & spirit Derek please [praying hands emoji] god is back on the right side of it now," before revealing she'll be back on Good Morning Britain and Smooth Radio this coming week.

Kate added: "Im so looking forward to seeing you all back on @gmb from 6 a.m tomorrow & @smoothradio - hopefully celebrating and @lionesses #worldcup win!" followed by a red heart emoji.

Many of her 506,000 followers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts as one person wrote: "Sending love and strength, delighted he’s recovering.

My wife and I now have COVID too, mildly, but even that wipes you out x." Another said: "Kate- you are a inspiration as a women, mother, wife.
