Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has revealed her husband Derek Draper is still "terribly affected" from his battle with Covid-19.
The presenter was telling co-star Ben Shepard about the recent developments in his long health journey. Former lobbyist Derek is one of the longest affected Covid patients in the UK.
His body has been ravaged by the virus as it has led to kidney failure, damage to his liver and pancreas and heart failure. The GMB host gave Ben and Dr Hilary an update on her husband's health, stating that "undoubtedly" the virus affected how his brain connects to his body, as they discussed the latest news regarding vaccinations.
Derek, 54, contracted the coronavirus in March 2020 and did not return home for a year after he was put into an induced coma by doctors.
