PHILADELPHIA - Police say a man is injured after a person, posing as a solicitor for a solar power company, carjacked him at gunpoint in Lower Merion Township on Monday.  At around 5 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Wilshire Road in the Penn Wynne section of Lower Merion Township for reports of an armed carjacking. Police say the victim encountered a suspect in his driveway when he arrived home in his vehicle. The suspect posed as a solicitor for solar power and made conversation with the victim before the victim declined the services and began walking away.

Police say one man is critically injured after a daytime shooting in West Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that critically injured one man and wounded another in Southwest Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.Shortly after 1 p.m. police responded to the intersection of 54th Street and Lindbergh Boulevard for reports that two people had been shot. Responding officers say they located a 21-year-old man who had been shot seven times throughout his body.

Todd Merinuk, 27, of West Deptford, was arrested as part of an undercover child exploitation investigation.  MERCER COUNTY, N.J. - A New Jersey man is facing charges after he was arrested in an online child exploitation investigation. According to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, 27-year-old Todd Merinuk of West Deptford, New Jersey, was arrested as part of the investigation. Authorities say an undercover detective working with the prosecutor's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began chatting with Merinuk weeks ago. The detective was posing online as a 14-year-old girl, according to the prosecutor's office. Officials say Merinuk shared sexually explicit messages with the undercover officer, thinking it was a teenage girl, including a photo of male genitals. Authorities also say Merinuk arranged for an in-person meet-up with the girl to engage in sexual acts. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe prosecutor's office says on March 16, Merinuk sent a ride share to an address in Mercer County to pick up who he thought was the teenage girl, to transport her to Gloucester County. According to officials, Merinuk was taken into custody at his home without incident. He faces several charges, including attempted sexual assault, attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and attempted luring. 

COLOMBO (News 1st); The body of one young man who was reported missing after going for a swim in the Ella-Wala Falls in Wellawaya was recovered on Tuesday (21) evening.However, three others who had gone with him for a swim remain missing.A group of ten young men had visited the Eella-Wala falls on Tuesday (21) morning for a swim.News 1st correspondents said that four of them were later reported missing.Following a massive search carried out by the locals and Sri Lanka Police, the body of one person was recovered.Search and rescue operations continued until late evening on Tuesday (21) to locate the three other missing men.The victims were identified as residents from Kalmunai.They were between the ages of 20 & 21.Several individuals who had visited this location had drowned earlier, and the most recent incident was reported in February 2022 when three lives were lost.According to locals, around 15 people had died after drowning at the Ella-Wala falls.
