After assuring fans that they were to continue to shoot during the tougher Tier 4 guidelines in the UK, alas ITV’s two soaps have had to halt production.
Filming has been suspended on Coronation Street and Emmerdale but ITV are confident the schedule won’t be affected. Corrie has been halted for two weeks as the production team work to adapt the current scripts and also review their current coronavirus health and safety protocols.
Emmerdale on the other hand was forced to stop filming as a number of team members tested positive for COVID-19. However, Emmerdale is set to begin shooting again on January 25 with a spokesperson telling Digital Spy that the team ‘carried out proper track and trace measures’ after the cases on set were confirmed.
