Footballer Gary O'Neil has spoken of how he has struggled to adjust to life without a club after leaving Bolton last summer.

The 36-year-old spent last season at Wanderers making 31 appearances and scoring three goals as the club endured relegation to League One from the Championship, though he was named Bolton's Player of the Year by supporters.

O'Neil - who counts Portsmouth, Walsall, Middlesbrough, West Ham United, QPR, Norwich City, Bristol City and Cardiff City among his former clubs - has been without a team since leaving Bolton last year.

Though he always believed he would play on, the veteran revealed he is in semi-retirement and now spends time as a pundit for Sky Sports and TalkSPORT.
