from Bolton, is among the thousands of the people who lost employment when the UK went into lockdown earlier year. The single mum-of-one has lost £60,000 since March and describes the financial worry as “extreme grief stretched out over a long period of time”.

She has applied to more than 300 jobs, ranging from supermarket floor staff to more suited business-related roles, all without success.

Her elderly parents have been able to help with the financial burden for now but she fears the stress may take its toll on their health.  “I’ve worked all my life and the government isn’t there,” she told the Manchester Evening News .  “I’ve even applied to Tesco – I'll stack shelves.
