The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh in Co Kildare and a concert featuring Christy Moore in Killarney, Co Kerry, are among a series of pilot events to test easing of coronavirus restrictions.
One thousand spectators will go to the Curragh today for Ireland's premier classic racing event - the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.
Of these, 50 complimentary have been set aside for frontline workers in a show of goodwill to those who have been at the fore of the fight against Covid-19.
