Wigan is home to the latest the Covid hotspot in Greater Manchester, according to new figures. Astley, Blackmoor and Mosley Common has the highest infection rate across the region.

The ward recorded 82 cases in the week ending November 17. The case rate now stands at 965.5 per 100,000 people. The infection rate for England is 411.9.

According to a virtual map, Leigh West is another 'blackspot' in the county. The case rate now stands at 802.8, recording 64 cases in one week.
