GPs to vaccinate medically vulnerable aged between 16 and 69

GP practices are to participate, for the first time, in the Covid-19 vaccination of medically vulnerable people aged between 16 and 69.

1,100 practices are preparing to take part in the vaccinations, and they are expected to deliver over 46,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses to this cohort by the end of next week.

They will then continue vaccinating medically vulnerable people at this same pace throughout the next four weeks. In addition, GPs will continue vaccinating people over 70s, bringing to 620,000 the total number of vaccine doses they alone will have administered by next weekend.

Hospitals and vaccination centres will continue vaccinating the medically vulnerable too. These vaccination plans however, could be impacted by new advice about
