PHILADELPHIA - First responders were on South Street Friday morning responding to an multi-alarm fire in the area of Jim’s Steaks.
Crews responded to the building on the corner of the 400 block of South Street around 9:30 a.m. for a report of a fire.The fire soon reached a second alarm and the Philadelphia Fire Department asked residents to avoid the area on social media.
The department says about 100 of their members are responding to the scene, including firefighters, medics, and support personnel. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)Officials have not said if the fire was primarily located in the steak shop, or other parts of the building.SKYFOX was over the scene as smoke poured from the top of the building and firefighters worked on the roof of the building and inside the upper floors.
