We reported earlier how the UK’s four chief medical officers (CMOs) decided that youngsters aged 12 to 15 should be offered a first dose of the Covid vaccine.

They were asked to make the final call on whether to approve the vaccine for that age group after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) declined to approve it on health grounds alone.
