Deaths from coronavirus in India passed 100,000 today, official data showed as the pandemic continued to rage across the world's second most populous country.
A total of 100,842 people have now died, health ministry figures showed, giving India the third-highest death toll in the world behind the United States and Brazil.
More than 34.53 million people have been reported to be infected by Covid-19 globally and it has killed 1,026,151 people, according to a Reuters tally.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
