There are 26 areas in England which are still seeing case rates rise despite the ongoing full lockdown, today's latest figures from Public Health England show.
Of the 315 local areas in England, 26 (8%) have seen a rise in case rates, 289 (92%) have seen a fall and one is unchanged. In today's update of the rolling seven-day case rate for every local authority area in England, the rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people. Knowsley in Merseyside continues to have the highest rate in England, with 1,330 new cases recorded in the seven days to January 22, the equivalent of 881.6 cases per 100,000 people.
This is down from 1,134.1 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to January 15. What is your view? Have your say
