A woman has described escaping a raging fire which tore through a block of flats before huge crowds gathered despite the coronavirus lockdown.
Kirsty Lucas said she had no idea the building was even ablaze until her sister called and told her to get out, as huge plumes of black smoke filled the sky.
Despite strict social distancing rules she said people came from far and wide to have a look, including youths on bikes playing music and filming shaken residents.
Firefighters were continuing to dampen down hotspots at the old lace factory Springfield Mill, in Sandiacre, Derbyshire, on Wednesday afternoon, 24 hours after the blaze started.
