An outbreak of coronavirus has been recorded among the 300-strong workforce in a Greggs bakery factory. The factory, in the Greggs homeland of Tyneside, has moved to shut down production.

The firm insists its supplies of steak bakes and sausage rolls will be unaffected by the outbreak at its production hub north of Newcastle, in Longbenton.
