Cher’s ex Val Kilmer has been praising her for sticking by him through his cancer battle. The Top Gun star speaks highly of former flame Cher in his new memoir, I’m Your Huckleberry, and reveals how she helped him get through his diagnosis.

The two previously dated in the 80s and Val, 60, was later diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015. Cher invited him to stay with her during his illness and he recalls how Cher ‘stepped in and stepped up’ to be there for him.

In an excerpt from his new book, published by People, Val recalls one night when Cher had been on hand, after he woke up vomiting blood.

PHILADELPHIA - No one was injured after a gunman opened fire on a Philadelphia police officer during a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Germantown.Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were patrolling the 4800 block of Keyser Street around 2 p.m. when they came upon a shootout between a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
