WASHINGTON - U.S. health officials are investigating a salmonella outbreak across six states possibly linked to a raw cookie dough product.At least 18 people have become ill, including two reported hospitalizations, between Feb.

27 and May 2, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Interviews with those who have become ill showed that nine sick people reported eating raw cookie dough from Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza in the week before they got sick, the CDC said Wednesday.

'It's heartbreaking': Vigil held for slain Bucks County infant

BRISTOL, Pa. - A Pennsylvania community held a vigil Friday for a local infant who prosecutors say died after being beaten and shaken several times by his own father."The community is heartbroken over this, I mean, it’s a small town, everybody knows everybody," Stephane Scancella said. Authorities say on Wednesday night officers from the Bristol Borough Police Department responded to home on 100 block of Radcliffe Street for reports of a 4-month-old in cardiac arrest. Officers administered CPR and rushed the baby to Lower Bucks Hospital where he was pronounced dead just after midnight. Tyler Sullivan (Bucks County District Attorney's Office) Tyler Sullivan, 30, was charged with homicide and two counts of aggravated assault in the case. Following an examination of the infant, a doctor found that the child had suffered several injuries, including bruises and abrasions throughout the body. Investigators concluded that Sullivan had violently shaken the baby on at least two occasions Wednesday, and at least six additional times over the past six weeks. CHICORA, Pa. - A Pennsylvania nurse is facing charges connected to the death of two patients and the hospitalization of a third, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. Authorities say the nurse, identified as 40-year-old Heather Pressdee of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, gave lethal doses of unnecessary medication to patients, resulting in their deaths. According to officials, the alleged incidents took place at Quality Life Services, a skilled nursing facility in Chicora, where Presdee was a registered nurse. Presdee is facing charges in the deaths of a 55-year-old man and an 83-year-old in addition to the hospitalization of a 73-year-old man, authorities say. COLUMBIA, S.C. - Convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh is facing federal charges for the first time after being indicted on 22 financial fraud charges over allegations that the disgraced former attorney schemed to steal settlement money from clients.The indictments unsealed Wednesday don't appear to reveal any new allegations against Murdaugh, a once prominent attorney in South Carolina who is serving a life sentence without parole for killing his wife and younger son.
