HACKENSACK, N.J. - Officials in New Jersey say a man who was wanted for allegedly setting an employee on fire has been found dead.Officials says Nicholas Pagano, 31, was a nurse who worked at the Hackensack University Medical Center. Police say Pagano died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Waterford Township early Tuesday morning. On Monday at approximately 5:15 a.m., police received a 911 call from the Hackensack University Medical Center with a report of an assault. Through an investigation, police learned that Pagano allegedly attacked a 54-year-old employee and burned her as well. He also struck the victim with a wrench.

RICHLAND, Wash. - The man who police say opened fire Monday at a Fred Meyer grocery store in Washington state, that killed one person and injured another, was taken into custody.Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Aaron Christopher Kelly and a warrant for first-degree murder was issued for him. He was arrested on Interstate 90 between Sprague and Spokane before midnight. Richland police said he was taken to the Tri-Cities and will be booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.

Alberta is preparing to bid farewell to the Restrictions Exemption Program — the province’s version of the vaccine passport — following hints from Premier Jason Kenney.

Footage shared by a resident of a downtown Ottawa residential apartment building showed two men entering the lobby on Sunday, taping the front doors shut, and attempting to set fire to the building using firestarters after residents of the building had argued with trucker convoy protesters earlier in the day. According to a resident of the building also seen in the video, one of the men said they were part of the trucker protests when asked.

WAIANAC, HI - A Hawaiian couple was charged a whopping $18,000 for their electric bill last month after their electric company claimed they were responsible for paying for their neighborhood streetlights.Desha-Ann and Rashann Kealoha, who live in Waianac, received a letter from the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) on Jan. 27, 2022, saying they were the legal owners of the street and were therefore responsible for an outstanding balance of $17,860.09, which was currently more than $18,000 due to "several years of unpaid invoices," WTEN-TV reported."Hawaiian Electric recently learned that you both own Halemaluhia Place…" the HECO said in the letter, according to the report.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia is piloting a first-of-its-kind free Narcan machine that officials hope will limit the number of overdose deaths in the city. The first Narcan Near Me touchscreen tower was placed outside the Lucien Blackwell Regional Public Library at the corner of 52nd and Chestnut streets in West Philadelphia. The machine will dispense an Overdose Recovery Kit that includes Narcan, gloves, a face shield and instructions. Philadelphia Health Commissioner Cheryl Bettigole said West Philadelphia was strategically picked to receive the first Narcan Near Me tower. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES"Places like West Philly don't have many resources as they need to combat this deadly problem," Bettigole said. Since 2017, officials said Philadelphia has been fighting a rise in overdose deaths due to the spread of fentanyl and heroin being sold in the city.Officials claim they have stepped up their efforts to provide resources to addicts in Kensington which has helped reduce the number of overdose deaths.  "Within the library system since October 2015 there have been over 54 reported incidents concerning overdoses and 41% of those it was the free library staff who administered Narcan to individuals in need," Director of the Free Library of Philadelphia Kelly Richards said. Jacqueline Soder, who attends a clinic every day to help beat her drug addiction, believes the machines are a good first step in helping quell the number of overdose deaths. "People that use don't like Narcan because when you get with it, it drains everything out of you," Soder said.

AMBLER, Pa. - Emergency crews responded to a fire at a business in Ambler Thursday morning. Flames broke out inside of an auto body shop on the unit block of Main Street around 10 a.m. FOX 29 crews arrived on the scene as smoke continued to pour from the building, particularly the open garage door. A short time later, flames could be seen coming from the windows on the second flood of the building - which is located near SEPTA's Ambler Station.SEPTA has suspended service between Fort Washington and Doylestown until further notice.
