A 17-year-old boy tragically took his own life while struggling to adapt in the coronavirus lockdown. Coronavirus restrictions were said to be a contributory factor towards three teenage suicides and four attempted suicides of children aged between 13 and 17 in Kent.

Relatives of Matthew Mackell are '100 per cent certain' he would still be alive if the lockdown had not been enforced. Heartbroken dad Michael Bond, 48, said his son, who was struggling, found it hard to adjust in lockdown when "all the most important things in his life got taken away from him." Matthew was found dead on May 7 in a park in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
