Ayrshire NHS chiefs have responded to a claim that only 60 per cent of people are turning up for vital coronavirus vaccines at one of the region's biggest vaccination centres.
A report online last week suggested that around 40 per cent of residents scheduled to be vaccinated at the Galleon Centre in Kilmarnock hadn't bothered to turn up for pre-arrange appointments.
The account also claimed that in some instances residents didn't even have the "courtesy to get in touch" with staff to cancel appointments they can't make.
But bosses at NHS Ayrshire & Arran wouldn't be drawn on the specifics of how many people are failing to turn up for COVID-19 vaccinations but did say the programme had been a huge success so far.
