Mandatory hotel quarantine has come into effect for all passengers arriving into Ireland from 33 countries deemed "high risk" for Covid-19 transmission.
Travellers are required to book a 12-night stay from a selection of hotels. However, this could be reduced if a person receives a negative Covid-19 test on day 10 of quarantine.
Countries on the mandatory hotel quarantine list include Austria, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Venezuela.
The new rules affect any passenger who was in one of the designated 'high risk' countries in the past 14 days, including those getting a connecting flight.
