A woman who stopped for petrol on her way home to the Isle of Man was jailed for breaking its strict coronavirus laws. Amie Murphy, 36, failed to go straight home to self isolate from a trip to the UK when her fuel warning light came on in her car.
The carer, from Ramsey, arrived back on the island on the Ben-My-Chree ferry shortly after 5am on September 18. A staff member helped Amie complete a landing card and explained the self isolation rules which she agreed to.
But she stopped for petrol at a station in Laxey after she left the ferry port and her fuel warning light came on in her car, a court heard.
