The Scottish Government will issue a Covid update later today on the coronavirus situation in Scotland. Deputy First Minister John Swinney will give an update in parliament on Tuesday instead of Nicola Sturgeon, who is attending COP26.It comes as the average number of Covid cases identified in Scotland has remained flat over the past month, with new infections slightly rising in recent days. The latest data revealed that Scotland recorded 2,012 new cases in the past 24-hour period but no deaths were reported.
However, there are fears that the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow could lead to a spike in covid cases in Glasgow and beyond.
