A new mutant strain of Covid is being monitored, according to scientists. It comes as the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) revealed that a total of 637 cases of the so-called XE variant - a blend of two Omicron strains - have been identified.

First discovered on January 19 this year, scientists are keeping a watchful eye on the mutation to see how it develops, reports Wales Online.

However, the UKHSA say that there is currently insufficient evidence to allow conclusions to be drawn in terms of how the variant it likely to grow and spread.

Scientists have recently been looking at three recombinant variants which have been identified in the UK. A recombinant variant happens when a person becomes infected with two or more strain of Covid at one time.

TRENTON - A New Jersey historical organization is helping to bring lessons of farming and agriculture to the Garden State's capital. The Howell Living History Farm has helped turn 70 plots of land in Trenton into city gardens and uses the land to help teach kids about old school agriculture. The program started over 30 years ago when community organization ISLES of Trenton got permission to turn three Chestnut Street lots into a garden. Deputy Director of Community Planning Jim Simon said ISLES helps Howell Living History Farm identify suitable city property and helps them organize projects by providing seeds and running soil tests. Neighborhood resident Cephala Ellis believes the garden offers a unique learning experience for children. "They're digging in the soil, they're getting to see what grounding is, what the earth is like, the importance of growing vegetables, growing flowers, and just being in a healthy atmosphere," Ellis said. CLEMENTON, N.J. - A woman is facing charges after authorities in Camden County say she made a bogus 911 call about a shooting in an effort to distract an officer who had pulled her over. On Monday afternoon, authorities say the Gloucester Township Police Communications Center received a 911 call about a shooting at the Millbridge Garden Apartment Complex in Clementon.Authorities say when officers were responding to the area, they did not observe a shooting scene, and they made several calls to the residents of the complex.
